Students helping Students Program by Room to Read U.A.E. Chapter
www.roomtoread.org
Room to Read has many student/teacher members in Dubai and they sacrifice their Saturday mornings (9am - 11am) to help fellow local students who need academic support. Many local students are willing to attend our Saturday Sessions where our volunteer students help two tough subjects (English and Math). We have some schools that provide bus service for their own students who volunteer at this venue. Individual student is more than welcome but we encourage you to form a group in your own schools. We would like to help you to organize it as your own project in your school! Lastly, please be advised that we provide credits for your community service hours. We also would really appreciate any kind of help from licensed teachers in any subject.
Our Saturday program was showcased at KHDA's What Worked Seminar on 18th May 2015. Please check out the presentations from two sister schools about how they benefited from this experience. Thanks to the support received from KHDA, our student volunteers were able to present our Saturday program in the auditorium and received a well deserved recognition!
Currently, we are running very successful student-led Football, Basketball, Music, & Art Saturday Programs in addition to English & Math!!
If you can help any other subject or sport, we can arrange willing students for you!!
If interested or would like to find out more about it, please email to myoo@giftofeducation.me.
